Garapa Brazilian Hardwood Decking
Why buy Garapa Decking? Garapa looks like oak, but is a
beautiful and long lasting decking that is twice as hard as oak.
Garapa is a lovely golden honey color and has a 25 year lifespan. We
sell so much to the local Atlanta market that we have become one of the
biggest retailers of Garapa or any Brazilian hardwoods in Georgia
and south east.
Garapa deck, also called Brazilian Oak decking is
extremely hard. It is 2x as hard as
American oak. Garapa (Brazilian Oak) is honey-yellow with slight
ribbon effects that becomes light brown with age. The grain is
interlocked and has a medium texture. Garapa deck are the best
choice in decking as Brazilian woods are naturally resistance to
decay like mold and fungus. It is also resistant to termites and
insects. Garapa decking is a very consistent color decking. Garapa
hardness makes it naturally scratch resistant. Many people like a
darker Garapa decking and use brown finishers to bring out the
darker colors.
Garapa is new to Atlanta but we are selling them all over the
metro area. They seem to be located in the northern Atlanta suburbs
like Alpharetta, Kennesaw, Marietta, Cummings, Canton, Norcross,
Buford and Gainesville. Like other Brazilian woods we are seeing
Garapa deck in both remodels and newer construction. Like Ipe,
